Learn the Miracle of the Qur’an Without Leaving Home
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
In the last week I’ve been getting emails from self-paced students asking about converting their accounts to premium so that they can begin attending live classes from October 1. With less than 3 weeks left before the start-date and 85% of the limited seats already claimed, I’m sending this time-sensitive message.
Here’s What You Get as a Premium Student
As a premium student, the 2 main benefits you will receive (above and beyond what you’re already entitled to as a self-paced student) are increased access to the instructor and accountability to ensure you reach your goals. This is especially true as the program moves forward and classical Arabic texts begin. (You’ll be surprised at how soon this begins). Those that regularly prepare the unvoweled texts on their own and repeatedly participate by reading the Arabic in front of the instructor will gain an extreme advantage over those that merely listen to prerecorded material. There’s just no comparison.
As the early registration incentives tied to the premium classes have been expiring in the last 3 months, the difference between self-paced and premium has now increased significantly: $497 for 1 year self-paced compared to $797 for 6 months premium.
Yes. We’ve officially raised tuition for the live classes. (Second time now in 8 years). This time around I’ve done this because I don’t want to teach the same material on both Saturdays and Sundays as I did in March and April.
We saw back then that there was a clear “capacity issue” with first semester students; I was forced to split the students into 2 groups and teach the material twice within a short 24 hour period. Something I have now decided never to repeat– and the solution to capacity issues is to raise prices.
Thus the new costs in the 1st year (premium) have increased to $797/semester. You can check the payments page here to verify this.
Why this doesn’t affect you
This restructuring in 1st year fees is being done solely in order to limit the number of new registrants so we don’t have such large classes. Also, given that the self-paced version of the program will remain at its affordable price, we’d prefer it if only the most serious and committed students sign up for the live classes.
Everyone else can study self-paced.
Given that the restructuring was for new students, I feel it necessary to extend an opportunity to self-paced students who signed up before the fee increase. It doesn’t seem fair that existing students be affected by price increases which are aimed at limiting new students.
We care a lot about our existing students and try to reward them with the greatest concessions. You can rest assured that whatever offer is given to existing students, it is exclusive and not extended to anyone else.
Here are the details
As a self-paced student, you’ve already submitted $497 for 1 year much of which at this stage is most likely unused. Depending on when you registered, you might have around 10 months left on your self-paced account. (This will obviously differ from student to student and can be tracked in your user control panel at the forum).
Instead of counting every 3 self-paced months equal to 1 month premium (in-line with the current rates), we’ll take the remaining months left on your account and reduce them by half. (10 months become 5). Beyond this, by submitting an additional $556 (4 months tuition @ $139/month), I’ll extend your account by NINE FULL MONTHS. This means that in our example, your account will be prepaid through November 2012. As you can see, this may well take your account into year 2 where the costs have been $139/month for the greater part of a year now. This is better than the best “half-off” deal I’ve EVER extended to any group of students.
The reason why I want to reward you for prepayment is that it is a sign of maturity and seriousness. It shows that you view these studies to be a gradual process requiring sustained effort. After all, it’s the first thing scholars study and they continue to study it for the rest of their lives. We appreciate this mindset greatly.
However, as we do have hard limits on the number of students we can accommodate in the live classes and there are students still registering for the October classes (and paying full price), I cannot keep this open indefinitely. In order to benefit from this incredible offer, please take care of this before MIDNIGHT on Monday, September 12.
Here’s What I Need You to do Now

IMPORTANT:If you select to take care of the entire tuition in 1 payment and haven’t already purchased a beginners book package, as part of this offer I’m willing to send you a free package. Yusuf
P.S. The offer to secure 9 months for the price of 4 will expire @ MIDNIGHT on Monday, September 12. As part of this offer (the full-pay option only) you will also receive a free beginners book package. If you already have the package, then no problem. Please indicate so in the reply to the email which brought you to this page. I’ll extend your account by 1 further month, as you already own the books.
P.P.S. The March 2011 students are resuming their live classes from this Sunday. They are moving into week 17. If you’ve covered until the week 14-15 mark, then it would be advisable to switch to premium now so you can attend with this March 2011 batch. They will begin the Hidayah an-Nahw book in about 3 weeks from now.
FAQ
Q: What are the timings for the live classes?
Start Date: Saturday, October 1, 2011
There will be two, 1-hour tutorial sessions each week. Timings are in Eastern Standard Time.
• Saturday morning: 8:15–9:15 am (EST) &
• Wednesday evening: 9:00–10:00 pm (EST) –or- Wednesday evening: 5:00–5:40 pm* (EST)
(*earlier session for International students)
Q: Is there any disadvantage to paying through installments, as opposed to the Full-Pay option?
A: The 3-Pay option is good for the remainder of this promotion. So to create a difference and incentivise those that signup with Full-Pay, I’m offering the books package to you if you pay in a single installment of $556, not if you choose the 3-Pay plan. However, since you may already own the books and, of course, the books can be accessed through scans available for free in our members area and one can begin learning perfectly fine without the hard copies, I would strongly recommend moving forward with the 3-Pay option, if you truly feel the convenience in that outweighs the benefit of the books.
